Christopher Knowlton is a Ph.D. candidate in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago and researches joint replacements at Rush University Medical Center. Additionally, Chris is a Chicago-based professional dance and movement artist who performs collaboratively with Erica Mott Productions, ATOM-r, Silvita Diaz Brown/SILDANCE-ACRODANZA, Synapse Arts and many other independent artists. Chris’s own dance work has been featured as a finalist in Science Magazine's 2012 Dance Your PhD contest, in an invited performance in TEDxWindyCity 2013 and in an invited performance for the Illinois Art Council's 2013 One State Together in the Arts conference in Moline, IL. Chris's work has also been featured in the FITSA Dance Festival in Puebla, Mexico and in Chicago at the Chicago Fringe Festival, PRODUCE, Salonathon, Dance Union, Queer, Ill & Okay, Chicago Moving Company's D49 & Dance Shelter, among others. Chris is currently artistic director of The Dance Team.
