Miranda Glikson is a dance educator, performer and dance-maker based in Australia and Germany. She has an an Associate Degree in Dance Performance (1994) from QUT and has performed with the Queensland Ballet, Australian Dancers, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, Singapore Dance Theatre, Tanzcompagnie Giessen, Bodytalk Bonn, GM Dance Cologne and in diverse independent projects in Germany where she has been based since 2000. Since 2004 she has developed several choreographic works performed in Germany and is a collaborator with new music & dance improvisation communities in the Frankfurt region.
She has a Masters of Arts in Contemporary Dance Pedagogy (2014) from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. Her teaching practice since 2004 involves dance industry and education institutions, education projects, and broader social contexts. Miranda was Company Trainer and Choreographic Assistant (2009-2012) for the contemporary/dance theatre company Tanzcompagnie Oldenburg, collaborating with choreographers Jan Pusch, Guy Weizmann, Ina Christel Johannesson,
Omar Rajeh and Tero Saarinen, and continues as a guest teacher for education institutions and independent dance houses in Germany and the region. Miranda is a regular teacher for Expressions Dance Company in Brisbane.
Her involvement in recent research projects in the areas of dance education and pedagogy and digital and choreographic tools transfer includes the ongoing Motion Bank Project in collaboration with The Forsythe Company (TFC) Frankfurt and Dresden, Berlin's Tanz im August Festival and Tanzlabor21 initiatives. Miranda is active in dance outreach programs in the broader community, including Altana integrated child education project, Frankfurt (also with TFC), and collaborations with several community youth centres in the Frankfurt region.
Miranda is currently undertaking a cross-discipline practice-led PhD at QUT in the Creative Industries Faculty.
