Vicky Malin is a dance artist based in London. After graduating from Roehampton University in 2003 with a degree in Psychology and Theatre Studies she spent 9 months working in a children’s home in Thailand with Burmese refugees. Set to return home and become a special needs teacher her life took an unexpected turn when she discovered candoco dance company on the internet. Vicky subsequently trained and performed internationally with candoco for 6 years, working with many respected choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Nigel Charnock, Wendy Houstoun and Trish Brown Company. As part of this contemporary dance company for disabled and non-disabled dancers she also performed in the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012. Now working independently, Vicky continues to perform, teach and create pieces of work in different settings. She has also recently became an accredited life coach and is providing one to one coaching sessions for different artists. Vicky has re-ignited a keen interest in neuroscience from her past studies in Psychology and is beginning to research more in this field, particularly in relation to her own movement. She is starting an MA in ‘Creative Practice' at Trinity Laban Conservatoire this September.
